Four Members of the Same Family Murdered; Two Children Among the Dead, One Body Found 500 Meters Away

Dumka (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light in Jharkhand’s Dumka district where four members of the same family were found murdered. The crime took place in Bardehi village under the Hansdiha police station area, where the bodies of a husband, wife, and their two young children were discovered. Police reached the spot and began an investigation. The village is about 45 kilometers from the district headquarters.

According to the police, the bodies of the wife and two children were found inside the house, while the husband’s body was recovered from a field nearly 500 meters away. Marks of rope were found on his neck, raising multiple questions about the nature of the incident. The deceased were identified as Birendra Kumar (32), his wife Aarti Kumari (27), their son Viraj (2), and daughter Ruhi (4).

Reports say Birendra sold fish for a living and had brought his wife back from her parental home just two days earlier. On Sunday morning, when the house door was opened, Aarti and the children were found dead inside. Villagers then started looking for Birendra and later found his body in a nearby field.

Upon receiving information, Hansdiha police station in-charge Tarachand arrived with a team and began inspecting the house and surrounding areas. Dumka SP Pitambar Singh Kherwar said the police team is on site and investigating the case. The exact cause of death is still unclear. The situation will become clearer after the post-mortem report and further inquiry.
