New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari made an important comment on Friday. He said that a paid campaign was run against him on social media, the purpose of which was only to target him politically.
Gadkari was speaking at the annual conference of the Society of Automobile Manufacturers when he was asked about the criticism of the blending of 20% ethanol (E20) in petrol. Gadkari said that India spends a lot on fossil fuel imports. Ethanol blending will not only reduce pollution but the money spent on imports will be invested in the country's economy. He said that the initiative to make ethanol from corn has directly benefited farmers by about Rs 45,000 crore.
