Ghosi MLA Sudhakar Singh passes away; CM Yogi and Akhilesh express grief
Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu): Samajwadi Party MLA Sudhakar Singh, representing the Ghosi Assembly constituency in Uttar Pradesh, passed away on Thursday. The party officially confirmed his demise. According to reports, the 60-year-old leader was admitted to Vedanta Hospital in Lucknow after complaining of chest pain. Two days later, around 4 a.m. on Thursday, doctors declared him dead. The Samajwadi Party wrote on X, “We are deeply saddened by the demise of Ghosi MLA Sudhakar Singh. May his soul rest in peace, and may the bereaved family find strength in this difficult time.”
His death created a wave of sorrow across the political fraternity, including within the Samajwadi Party and among his supporters. Party chief Akhilesh Yadav reached the hospital in the morning to offer condolences to the family. He also wrote on X, expressing grief and praying for strength for the bereaved relatives.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid tribute, calling the news extremely saddening. He offered condolences to the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. SPM MP Rajeev Rai similarly expressed his grief and condolences.
Sudhakar Singh came into the spotlight when he defeated senior BJP leader Dara Singh Chauhan in the Ghosi by-election, marking a significant win for the Samajwadi Party.
