Gujarat Bridge Collapse: 15 Dead, 4 Missing as Rescue Operations Continue

The bridge, which had been in service for over four decades, gave way around 7:30 AM, causing multiple vehicles—including trucks, vans and an autorickshaw—to plunge into the river from a height of nearly 60 feet.

Emergency teams were quickly deployed to the site, including disaster response forces and local rescue units. So far, 15 bodies have been recovered, while four individuals remain unaccounted for. Search operations are ongoing both at the site and downstream. Several of the victims belonged to the same family from a nearby village. Survivors have been hospitalized, with some reported to be in critical condition.
