Gurugram (The Uttam Hindu): In a major breakthrough, Gurugram Police's Crime Branch teams from Sector-39 and Sector-40 arrested two sharpshooters of the notorious Bambiha gang after a fierce encounter near Maidanwas village. Acting on a tip-off, the police learned that two armed members of the gang were hiding in the area and planning a serious criminal act. The Crime Branch swiftly launched an operation and cordoned off the location.

When police attempted to apprehend the suspects, the criminals refused to surrender and opened fire on the police team. In retaliation and self-defense, the police returned fire, injuring both assailants—one shot in the leg and the other in the shoulder. They were immediately taken into custody and admitted to Gurugram Civil Hospital for treatment.

The arrested shooters have been identified as Sumit and Sukhnjeet, both residents of Punjab. They are long-time associates of the Bambiha gang and have been involved in several violent crimes across northern India.

A senior police officer stated that the suspects were first given a chance to surrender peacefully, but they opted for violence instead. The police exercised restraint during the gunfight to avoid civilian casualties. The Bambiha gang is notorious for its criminal operations across North India. With this arrest, authorities believe they’ve dealt a serious blow to the gang’s operations in the region. Police are now interrogating the duo to uncover more information about their associates, planned crimes, and the gang’s broader network.
