Hardoi (The Uttam Hindu): There was a stir in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday when a huge fire broke out in a children's hospital located in a busy area of the city. As soon as the news of the fire spread in Kirti Krishna Child Hospital located on Nagheta Road in the city Kotwali area, there was panic and screaming among the patients and their attendants. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade and police teams reached the spot and launched a big rescue operation.

The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon, when people panicked after seeing smoke suddenly filling the hospital. The fire is said to have started on the upper floor and basement of the hospital. Since the hospital is exclusively for children, many newborns and small children were admitted there, which made the situation even more serious.

The fire brigade team reached the spot and immediately started extinguishing the fire. The biggest challenge was to safely evacuate the children and their relatives trapped inside the hospital. With the help of local people, the fire brigade personnel installed stairs on the second floor of the hospital and safely brought down the children and their relatives trapped there one by one.

Nanhi Devi, a resident of Husseinpur Sahora, who had come to the hospital with her one-month-old child, said tremblingly, “I had brought the child today at 1:30 pm. When I came to know about the fire, I panicked, immediately took the child in my arms and came out through the stairs from the first floor.”

Meanwhile, Aparna Gupta, wife of hospital director Dr. CK Gupta, said that she was in her office when the premises were filled with smoke. She said, "We received information that the fire broke out in the basement. It is suspected that this accident may have happened due to battery explosion or short circuit."

CO City Ankit Mishra, who reached the spot, said that as soon as the information was received, the fire brigade team took immediate action and controlled the fire. He said, "In the initial investigation, the cause of the fire seems to be a short circuit. Thankfully, there has been no loss of life in this incident. All the patients and attendants have been evacuated safely. Necessary legal action is being taken in the matter."
