“Hey women, why are you all leaving… sit down,” Nitish Kumar loses temper during speech

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has once again come into the spotlight over his remarks. During a visit to Siwan district, a video of his speech from the stage has gone viral on social media, in which he is seen stopping and scolding some women who were leaving the venue.

The Chief Minister was in Siwan to review development works. During the visit, he addressed a public programme held at the Government Medical College in Maharajganj (Mairwa). While his speech was underway, a few people stood up and started moving out, prompting Nitish Kumar to express his displeasure and ask them to sit down.

“Why are the women leaving?”

In the viral video, Nitish Kumar can be heard saying, “Don’t leave like this. Why are all the women leaving? If you don’t stay and listen, how will you know how much work has been done for women? Sit down and listen.”

What happened during the speech

The incident occurred while the Chief Minister was addressing the gathering from the stage. As some women began to exit the venue, he interrupted his speech and addressed them directly. The entire moment was captured on camera and has since become a topic of discussion on social media.

Siwan visit under ‘Samriddhi Yatra’

Nitish Kumar was visiting Siwan district as part of his statewide ‘Samriddhi Yatra’. During the visit, he announced development projects worth ₹202 crore for the district. Foundation stones were laid for 40 projects worth ₹157 crore, while 31 projects worth ₹45 crore were inaugurated.

Senior leaders present on stage

The programme was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, senior minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, along with several senior officials and public representatives.
