Sanjauli Mosque dispute: High Court orders status quo, demolition of upper floors except the bottom two: Waqf Board has challenged the decision of Shimla Municipal Corporation Commissioner and District Court. Earlier also a petition was filed in this regard which was withdrawn on Friday. Then Waqf Board filed a fresh petition.

Let us tell you that on 30 October, the District Court had upheld the orders of Shimla Municipal Corporation Commissioner dated 3 May 2025, in which the Municipal Commissioner had declared the entire mosque illegal and ordered the demolition of the entire structure. But these orders were challenged by Waqf Board and Mosque Committee in the District Court. During the hearing, the District Court upheld the orders of the Municipal Commissioner and ordered the demolition of the illegal structure by 30 December.
