New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): There has been a major increase in the firepower of the Indian Army. The first batch of Apache, one of the world's most dangerous fighter helicopters, has reached India. These state-of-the-art helicopters manufactured by the American company Boeing will be included in the army fleet. Their first deployment will be in Jodhpur, which is strategically close to the western border.

The Indian Army gave this information on the social media platform 'X' and called it a historic moment. The army wrote in the post, "Arrival of Apache in Indian Army! A historic moment for the army. Welcome the first batch of Apache helicopters to India. This will significantly increase the operational capabilities of the army."

India had signed a deal with American aerospace company Boeing in 2020 for six AH-64E Apache helicopters for the Indian Army. Their delivery was to take place last year itself, but it has been delayed by about 15 months. Three helicopters have reached India in the first consignment received on Tuesday.

It is important to note that these helicopters have been received by the Indian Army. Earlier, the Indian Air Force already has a fleet of 22 Apache helicopters. Now the army has started getting its own Apache helicopters, which will enable better coordination between ground and air operations.

Apache helicopters are known for their lethal firepower, strong armor and advanced technology to operate even at night. Their induction into the army will increase India's military strength manifold on the western border.
