“If there is self-confidence, everything is possible…,” says PM Modi after trade deal with the US

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that self-confidence is the power that makes every goal achievable and will play a key role in realizing the vision of a Developed India. The Prime Minister shared these thoughts on Tuesday through a post on social media platform X.

PM Modi’s message came just hours after India and the United States reached an important trade agreement. Under this deal, the US has agreed to reduce reciprocal tariffs on Indian goods from 25 percent to 18 percent, marking a major development in bilateral trade relations.

In his Hindi post on X, the Prime Minister wrote that self-confidence is the strength through which everything becomes possible. He said that this very confidence among citizens will be crucial in turning the dream of a developed India into reality.

Along with his message, PM Modi also shared a Sanskrit verse highlighting the proper use of wealth and its contribution to nation-building. The verse conveys that wealth earned through righteous means grows with courage and confidence, remains stable through skill and efficiency, and when protected with discipline, contributes to national progress.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had announced the India-US trade deal through a social media post. Trump described Prime Minister Modi as a close friend and said the agreement was finalized on the basis of mutual respect and friendship between the two nations.

Trump also stated that the decision to reduce reciprocal tariffs was taken at PM Modi’s request. While there was no immediate official response from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi’s post later confirmed the talks between the two leaders.
