In Two Years, Five Doctors Collected ₹26 Lakh to Target Multiple Cities; Major Revelation in Delhi Blast Case
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a major development in the white-collar terror module case, the prime accused Mujammil Gani revealed crucial details during NIA interrogation. According to him, five doctors pooled together ₹26 lakh over two years to plan coordinated terror attacks across several Indian cities. This network had been collecting explosive materials and remote-trigger devices for nearly two years. Officials said Gani contributed ₹5 lakh, Adil Ahmed Rather gave ₹8 lakh, his brother Muzzaffar Rather added ₹6 lakh, Shaheen Shahid provided ₹5 lakh, and Dr. Umar-un-Nabi contributed ₹2 lakh. All the funds were handed over to Umar, indicating that he held the main operational responsibility.
Gani admitted to purchasing 26 quintals of NPK fertilizer for ₹3 lakh from Gurugram and Nuh. According to officials, his role was focused on collecting the material, while Umar was responsible for converting the fertilizer into explosives and preparing remote detonators. Investigators also found that large quantities of ammonium nitrate and urea had been stockpiled. Tasks related to the planned attack were clearly divided, with Umar handling the technical operations.
So far, three doctors Mujammil Gani, Shaheen Shahid, and Adil Rather have been arrested. Adil’s brother Muzzaffar Rather is believed to be in Afghanistan. Authorities are also searching for Nisar-ul-Hasan, who worked at Al-Falah Medical College. Investigators suspect that Umar activated the explosives placed inside the car used in the 10 November blast near the Red Fort. NIA officials stated that the accused’s testimony has been crucial in connecting scattered pieces of evidence.
