In Key Meet, INDIA Alliance Finalizes Plan to Take On Government Over Multiple Issues
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The monsoon session of Parliament is underway. Meanwhile, the leaders of the Indi alliance held a meeting in the Parliament House complex on Tuesday to chalk out a strategy for the monsoon session and discuss the key issues to be raised by the opposition in the House. The alliance decided that they will put pressure on the government and raise important issues loudly.
Congress national president and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi along with other prominent MPs of the alliance attended this meeting held on Tuesday in the Parliament House complex.
Congress shared some pictures related to the meeting on its official X handle. He said that a meeting of the floor leaders of the Indi Alliance was held today in the Parliament House Complex. Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi along with MPs of the Indi Alliance were present in this meeting.
Congress said that in the monsoon session, the opposition will raise many important issues in the House, which include Pahalgam attack, Operation Sindoor, Trump's statement on ceasefire and trade, voting ban in the name of SIR in Bihar, foreign policy issues (Pakistan, China, Gaza), delimitation issue, atrocities on Dalits, backward, tribals, women and minority groups in the country, Ahmedabad plane accident and Manipur violence. The Prime Minister should come to the House and answer questions related to these issues.
The monsoon session of Parliament has started on 21 July and will continue till 21 August. During this period, a heated debate is expected between the opposition and the ruling party.
On the first day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament, a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee was held, in which time has been fixed for discussion on various bills and important issues. There has been a consensus for a discussion of 16 hours in the Lok Sabha and 9 hours in the Rajya Sabha on 'Operation Sindoor'. Apart from this, a discussion of 3 hours has been fixed in the Lok Sabha on the 'Indian Postal Bill'.
