New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): India has been placed on high alert amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. The Ministry of Home Affairs and security agencies have instructed all states to keep a close watch on suspicious elements and ensure adequate police deployment to maintain law and order.

Protests have been reported in several states in support of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei following his reported killing in a US-Israeli strike. Authorities have also raised concerns about attempts to spread misinformation through social media platforms. State police departments have issued strict advisories, urging citizens not to post, share, or forward any objectionable, provocative, or misleading content. Officials warned that rumors and false messages could disturb communal harmony and pose serious challenges to public order.

Police have emphasized that while the right to peaceful and lawful expression is respected, any form of violence, damage to public property, or confrontation with security forces will not be tolerated. Such actions, they said, lead to loss of life and property and create unrest in society.

Authorities have made it clear that strict legal action will be taken against those violating the law. Individuals involved in unlawful activities, those inciting violence, and antisocial elements will be identified and dealt with firmly.

In Karnataka’s Bandipura district, local police have appealed to residents to cooperate in maintaining peace and stability. Officials stated that safeguarding law and order is a shared responsibility and urged people to avoid any activities that could disrupt public harmony.

The police further appealed to the public to refrain from vandalism, rioting, stone-pelting, or any disruptive behavior. Such actions not only violate the law but also inconvenience ordinary citizens, businesses, students, and daily wage earners. Authorities cautioned that unrest could lead to the closure of schools, disruption of transport services, and adverse effects on economic activities.
