New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Indian Air Force (IAF) is all set to celebrate its 93rd Foundation Day on Wednesday with great pride and honour. On this occasion, the nation will pay tribute to the valiant air warriors who continue to safeguard India’s skies with unwavering commitment and courage.

A grand ceremony will be held at the Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad, where 97 air fighters who displayed extraordinary bravery and excellence will be felicitated. Among them are those who played a crucial role in the ‘Operation Sindoor’, a mission that showcased India’s air dominance and military synergy against Pakistan. Prior to the event, the Chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force along with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) will offer floral tributes to the martyrs.

On the eve of the IAF Day, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh addressed the nation, affirming that in today’s unpredictable global environment, air power has become the decisive instrument of national security. He declared, “The Indian Air Force stands ever-ready to meet every challenge with speed, precision, and determination.”

Paying respect to all air warriors, he said, “Defending the nation’s borders, protecting civilian lives, and securing our military bases remain our highest duties. Our commitment is unwavering, and we are resolute in our service to the nation. Every IAF mission reflects our discipline, technical excellence, and utmost professionalism.”

Referring specifically to ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Air Chief described it as a shining example of joint coordination among the Indian Armed Forces, high-level leadership, and indigenous technological capabilities. He emphasized that when India’s defence forces unite, no challenge is insurmountable.

He further highlighted the humanitarian side of the Air Force, saying, “Whether it’s flood relief, natural disasters, or evacuation of Indian citizens from foreign soil — the IAF has always been the first to respond. During ‘Operation Sindhu’ and ‘Operation Brahma’, our airmen displayed the finest spirit of humanitarian service.”

Expressing gratitude towards the veterans, he said, “Our air veterans have given us a legacy of vision, leadership, and courage. Their inspiration continues to guide our path forward.”

Looking ahead, Air Chief Marshal Singh reiterated that the IAF remains focused on innovation, technology adoption, and self-reliance, continuously upgrading its combat capabilities. “We are committed to enhancing our operational strength and will continue to defend the nation’s skies with utmost dedication,” he assured.

Concluding his address, he extended heartfelt greetings to all citizens on the occasion of Air Force Day, saying, “It is our honour to be the guardians of India’s skies, and we shall uphold this responsibility with full devotion. Jai Hind.”
