Indigo plane's tail smacks Ranchi runway, lives of passengers hang in balance
Ranchi (The Uttam Hindu): A major plane accident was averted on Saturday in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. During landing at Ranchi Airport, the tail of an Indigo Airlines flight hit the runway, causing panic among the passengers for some time. It is being reported that there were about 70 passengers on board the flight. Due to the collision with the runway, the passengers felt a strong jolt, but the relief was that all the passengers remained completely safe and no one was injured.
Following the incident, the aircraft has been grounded for further flights as a precautionary measure and the relevant authorities are investigating the matter. Airport authorities and IndiGo's technical team have begun inspecting the aircraft.
The accident occurred during landing
Officials explained the incident as the plane, which was flying from Bhubaneswar to Ranchi, was landing at the airport. According to officials, there were approximately 70 passengers on board. Ranchi Airport Director Vinod Kumar said, "The tail of the plane hit the runway during landing. The passengers were jolted. However, they are all safe and uninjured."
