Addiction Ends in Heartbreak: 12-Year-Old Boy Dies by Suicide After ₹3,000 Deducted During Online Game
Indore (The Uttam Hindu): In a deeply tragic and disturbing incident from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a young boy’s life came to a heartbreaking end due to his growing obsession with online games. The 12-year-old, a student of Class 8, reportedly took his own life after a sudden incident involving an online game left the entire family in shock.
The family had just celebrated the child’s birthday with joy on July 30. But the very next morning, while playing a game on his mother’s mobile phone, ₹3,000 was unexpectedly debited from her bank account. Upon being questioned, the boy quietly walked into his room and locked the door.
After several minutes of silence and unanswered calls, the family forced the door open—only to discover the child hanging from the ceiling fan. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.
Police were alerted, and an initial investigation suggested the motive was linked to the online game and the unexpected monetary deduction. Investigating officer Rajesh Jain confirmed that financial transactions connected to gaming were involved. The child’s body has been sent for postmortem and further inquiries are ongoing.
The boy’s uncle voiced grave concern over the growing dangers of online gaming, urging authorities to implement strict regulations. He emphasized that such digital addictions are increasingly affecting the mental well-being of children and in some cases, leading to fatal consequences.
