Infiltration Bid Foiled on LoC in Poonch, Army Kills 2 Terrorists in Encounter
Poonch (The Uttam Hindu): Security forces killed 2 terrorists in a joint operation in the Degwar sector of Poonch district this morning. In this joint operation conducted by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, the terrorists' attempt to infiltrate was foiled.
Infiltration attempt failed on LOC in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, Army killed 2 terrorists in encounter: Army spokesperson said that after receiving information about suspicious activities near the Line of Control (LoC), the area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched. Meanwhile, the terrorists started firing on the security forces, in response to which both the terrorists were killed. According to sources, the terrorists killed were trying to infiltrate India from Pakistan. After the encounter, the search operation has been intensified in the entire area to ensure that no other terrorist is hiding in the area.
Earlier on Monday, the army killed three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack under Operation 'Mahadev' in Lidwas area of Srinagar. This operation was carried out in the dense Dachigaon forests, from where a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and rations for several days were recovered. According to the army, the three terrorists killed were associated with 'The Resistance Front' (TRF). Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Musa was also among them.
