Iran closes airspace, Air India Indigo and other airlines issue advisory
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The worsening situation in Iran has started impacting international air travel. Due to security concerns, Iran has completely closed its airspace. As a result, several major airlines, including Air India and IndiGo, have issued travel advisories for passengers.
Airlines stated that with Iranian airspace shut, most flights passing through the region are being operated via alternative routes. This has increased flight durations and led to delays, while some services have also been cancelled.
Air India advisory
In its advisory, Air India said that Iran’s airspace has been closed due to the prevailing situation. The airline emphasized that passenger safety remains its top priority. Flights are being operated through alternate routes, which may cause delays on certain sectors.
Air India also informed that some flights have been cancelled as route changes were not feasible. Passengers have been advised to check their flight status on the airline’s official website or through customer care before heading to the airport.
