Islamabad Court Blast: Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Blames India, MEA Issues Strong Rebuttal
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A suicide blast at the Islamabad court complex in Pakistan has left 12 people dead and 36 injured. Following the incident, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif accused India of involvement. However, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) sharply dismissed these allegations.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated, “India categorically rejects the baseless accusations made by the deranged Pakistani leadership.”
He further added, “Pakistan’s military-backed regime is once again trying to divert its citizens’ attention from the ongoing constitutional collapse and power struggle by fabricating lies against India. The international community is well aware of these desperate diversionary tactics and will not be misled.”
Pakistan has once again drawn global embarrassment upon itself. The country’s leadership continues to make unsubstantiated claims, and this time, the Islamabad court blast has exposed their double standards.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said, “These attacks are part of terrorism backed by India, aimed at destabilizing Pakistan. Such acts, carried out from Afghan soil under India’s influence, deserve the strongest condemnation.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif contradicted his PM’s statement, saying, “We are in a state of war. The attack didn’t happen on the Afghan border or in Balochistan — it occurred right in Islamabad. The Taliban rulers can stop terrorism in Pakistan, but bringing the fight to Islamabad is a message from Kabul.”
The conflicting statements from Pakistan’s top leadership have once again exposed their internal confusion and failed attempts to malign India. Notably, Shehbaz Sharif’s remark came amid escalating border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Despite three rounds of talks mediated by Qatar and Turkey, both sides failed to reach an agreement. Meanwhile, Afghanistan accused Pakistan of an airstrike that killed six people and injured five others.
