Jammu (The Uttam Hindu): Anti-terrorist operation continued in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday while in another operation in Poonch district, joint forces recovered war material like arms and ammunition.

The Indian Army's White Knight Corps based in Nagrato said in a post on its official handle, "Encounter with terrorists. In an intelligence-based operation in the area of Kishtwar, alert troops of White Knight Corps made contact with terrorists at around 8 pm on 19 Sep 2025. An exchange of fire took place. The operation is still underway."

In another joint operation in Poonch district, war material like arms and ammunition were recovered. In another post on X, the White Knight Corps wrote, "Joint Operation | War material recovered. Based on intelligence, troops of the White Knight Corps during a joint search operation with JKP recovered one weapon (AK series), 4 AK magazines, 20 hand grenades and other war material in Poonch sector. Search operation is ongoing."

The joint forces are continuously carrying out large-scale operations against terrorists, their associates and supporting elements in Jammu and Kashmir. Drug smugglers and drug peddlers are also on the radar of the joint security forces as intelligence agencies believe that the money collected from drug smuggling and hawala money rackets is ultimately used to fund terrorists in the Union Territory.

Targeting terrorists, their associates and sympathisers as well as drug smugglers and hawala money racketeers is part of the revised strategy of the joint forces to eliminate the entire ecosystem of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

In most of the drug smuggling and hawala money cases, intelligence agencies have succeeded in tracing the root source of these activities from across the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB).

Jammu and Kashmir has a 240-km-long international border spread across the Jammu, Kathua and Samba districts and a 740-km-long LoC in the Valley, covering the districts of Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora and Poonch and Rajouri in the Jammu division. The BSF guards the international border, while the Army guards the LoC.
