Jammu (The Uttam Hindu): Two Special Police Officers (SPOs) have been dismissed from service in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district for alleged links with terrorists. Meanwhile, a massive search operation was launched in Sopore for the second consecutive day against overground workers (OGWs) and terrorist associates.

Kathua Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohita Sharma issued an order dismissing both of them from service with immediate effect. According to police sources, these SPOs were providing logistical support to terrorists at the local level, jeopardizing the confidential plans of security forces.

Meanwhile, police launched a massive operation for the second consecutive day to dismantle a terrorist support network in the Sopore area of North Kashmir. Acting on credible intelligence, Sopore police raided over 30 locations linked to the Jammu and Kashmir National Organization of People (JKNOP), other terrorist operatives, and their associates.

The main objective of these operations was to break the local networks providing logistical, financial or ideological support to terrorism.

In the ongoing operations, several OGWs and suspected associates have been detained for questioning and their roles and links in assisting cross-border operatives are being investigated.

Incriminating materials, documents, and digital devices were seized for forensic examination, potentially containing information related to terrorist communications and funding. Cordon and search operations were simultaneously conducted in sensitive areas.
