Kishtwar Encounter Enters Second Day; Two Most Wanted Hizbul Terrorists Trapped
Jammu (The Uttam Hindu): The operation of security forces against terrorists in the dense forests of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir continued for the second day on Monday. Security forces have surrounded the entire area to capture the terrorists hiding in the Bhagna forests of Dool area. Intermittent firing and sounds of explosions are being heard continuously.
Encounter continues for the second day in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, two most wanted terrorists of Hizbul surrounded : According to officials, the terrorists may be hiding in a cave built on a high rock, which is located about 25 kilometers from Kishtwar city. According to information, two most wanted terrorists of Hizbul Mujahideen - Riyaz Ahmed and Mudassar Hazari - may be present here. Both of them have been active for the last eight years and a reward of Rs 10 lakh has been announced on each of them.
When the security forces started the search operation at 6:30 am on Sunday, the terrorists started firing. After this, there was firing twice more during the day, but the terrorists took advantage of the forest and fled in another direction.
The army, police and CRPF have jointly intensified the operation. The area has been cordoned off to ensure that the terrorists do not escape in any direction. Para commando squads have also been deployed and surveillance is being done through drones. Officials said that the operation will continue until the hiding terrorists are caught or killed. High alert is in place in the area and vigilance has been increased on all entry and exit routes.
