KMP Expressway crash kills Polish tourist, taxi driver heading to Taj Mahal

Palwal (The Uttam Hindu): A Polish man and a taxi driver from Agra were killed and a Polish woman was seriously injured in a horrific road accident on Wednesday morning near the KMP Expressway in Haryana's Palwal district. Sadar police station has registered a case against the unidentified dumper driver and launched an investigation.


According to reports, Nafees, a resident of Basai, Agra, used to drive a taxi in Delhi. Upon receiving a booking for the Taj Mahal in Agra, he left for Agra on Wednesday morning in his Swift Desire car from a hotel in Gurugram, picking up passengers. The passengers in the taxi were 29-year-old Majdik and 27-year-old Agnieszka, both residents of Poland.


At around 6:30 a.m., a speeding dumper truck hit the car from behind on the KMP Expressway. After the collision, the car spun out of control and crashed into a broken truck parked on the side of the road. The accident was so severe that the car was severely damaged.


The incident sparked chaos at the scene. Passersby immediately alerted the police and ambulance. The injured were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared Majjik and the driver, Nafees, dead. Seriously injured Agneshka was referred to a higher center after first aid.


Upon receiving information about the accident, Nafees' family rushed to the district civil hospital and filed a complaint with the police. Postmortems were subsequently conducted on the bodies.


Sadar police station has registered a case against the unidentified dumper driver and launched a search for him. The cause of the accident is being investigated. Traffic on the expressway was affected for some time due to the accident. Police have appealed to drivers to adhere to the posted speed limit and drive carefully.
