Patna (The Uttam Hindu): Bihar politics was rocked on Saturday when Rohini Acharya, daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Yadav, announced her decision to quit politics and distance herself from her family.

Rohini Acharya also said that Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked her to do this. She also said in the post that she was taking the blame for everything. Rohini Acharya wrote in the post on the social media platform X, "I am leaving politics and breaking ties with my family. Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do this. I am taking the blame for everything."

Rohini's decision has created a stir not only within the RJD but across Bihar politics. The RJD has yet to issue an official statement on the matter. It will be interesting to see how Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and other RJD leaders respond to this matter. Rohini Acharya's statement came just two days after the results of the Bihar Assembly elections were announced. The RJD-led Grand Alliance suffered a crushing defeat in this election. Lalu Yadav's party, the RJD, led by Tejashwi Yadav, was reduced to just 25 seats.

RJD won 25 seats in this Bihar Assembly election. Congress, another major party in the Grand Alliance, was reduced to just six. Meanwhile, the BJP emerged as the largest party in Bihar, winning 89 seats. The NDA, a BJP-JDU alliance, secured a landslide victory.
