Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday strongly targeted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha during a press conference. Reacting to Chadha's removal as the party's deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha and his release of a video message, Chief Minister Mann clarified that Chadha never raised the real issues of Punjab in Parliament. The Chief Minister's strong statement comes at a time when reports of internal strife within the Aam Aadmi Party and the sidelining of Chadha are constantly making headlines in political circles.

Parliament discusses samosas, but maintains silence on withheld funds

Responding to a question posed by journalists at a press conference regarding Raghav Chadha's video, Chief Minister Mann stated that Raghav Chadha spoke from a different platform, and therefore, he would be better able to answer this question. Taking a sharp dig at him, the Chief Minister said that as an MP, Raghav Chadha never spoke about Punjab's rights. Mann directly alleged that Raghav never asked any questions in Parliament about the thousands of crores of rupees of funds withheld from Punjab by the central government, but did raise nonsensical issues like samosas.

Strict action is taken against those who go out of the party line

Defending the party's internal decisions, the Chief Minister clarified that changing the leader and deputy leader in Parliament is a very normal process. He added that such organizational changes occur from time to time within the party. In a significant gesture, CM Mann also made it clear that if any leader deviates from the party line or engages in indiscipline, action will be taken against them.

Report card of other ministers including Aman Arora presented

It is noteworthy that Cabinet Minister Aman Arora was also present with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann during this important press conference. On this occasion, CM Mann elaborated on the achievements made by Aman Arora's department over the past four years. It should be noted that the Chief Minister has previously presented the performance report cards of four or five other state ministers' departments to the public.
