Divine Intervention? Landslide on Trikuta Mountainin Vaishno Devi, Passengers Miraculously Safe
Katra (The Uttam Hindu): A major accident was averted late Saturday night on the Trikuta mountain of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. A landslide occurred near Himkoti area on the important battery car route leading to the temple, due to which a tin shed built on the road was damaged. Fortunately, the devotees passing through there at the time of the incident were completely safe and no one was injured. The Shrine Board took immediate action and cleared the route within a few hours and reopened it for the Yatra on Sunday morning.
According to the information, this incident happened around 12:00 pm on Saturday night, when suddenly debris fell from the hill on the battery car route. At that time, the movement of devotees was going on on the route, but they narrowly escaped from getting hit by it. On receiving the information, the Shrine Board administration immediately stopped the journey on this route and closed the route from both sides.
JCB machines and shrine board employees started removing the debris at night itself. After inspecting the route on Sunday morning, it was reopened for devotees at around 6:00 am, after which the pilgrims and the administration heaved a sigh of relief.
On Sunday, thick clouds loomed over the Trikuta mountain of Mata Vaishno Devi, due to which the helicopter service between Katra and Sanjichhat remained suspended for the whole day. However, regardless of the weather, the enthusiasm of the devotees remained intact and they continued to move towards the temple through traditional routes. All other services like horse, pitthu, palanquin, battery car and ropeway continued to run smoothly.
According to the Shrine Board, on last Saturday (26th July) 24,427 devotees paid their obeisance at the feet of Maa Vaishno Devi. Today, by 1:00 pm on Sunday, about 13,400 devotees had registered and left for the temple and the yatra is continuing uninterrupted. The weather department has predicted rain during the yatra.
