Minor Dalit Girl Taken from Prayagraj to Kerala for Conversion, Terror Training: 2 Arrested
Prayagraj (The Uttam Hindu) : The Prayagraj police have foiled a plot to recruit a minor Dalit girl into terrorist activities. The girl, who went missing on May 8, was allegedly abducted and taken to Thrissur in Kerala, where she was forced to convert to Islam and radicalized.
Key Accused and Modus Operandi
Kahkasha Bano, 19, and Mohammad Kaif, 25, both residents of Phulpur, were arrested for their involvement in the plot. Kahkasha lured the girl with promises of money, while Kaif accompanied them to Kerala and allegedly molested the victim during the journey.
Rescue and Investigation
The minor girl managed to escape and reached Thrissur Railway Station, where local police intervened and handed her over to the Child Welfare Committee. Authorities assisted her safe return to her village in Prayagraj. The Prayagraj police have formed three dedicated teams to investigate the case, suspecting a larger conspiracy involving groups from Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, and possibly Pakistan-linked organizations.
Public Reaction and Ongoing Probe
The case has sparked widespread shock, given the victim's Dalit status. Police are pursuing leads on potential broader modules and extremist links, with additional arrests likely as investigations continue. Community members and officials are calling for vigilance and action to protect vulnerable children .
