Chhindwara (The Uttam Hindu): A hair-raising accident has occurred in the Sillewani valley of Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, where a speeding truck loaded with maize went out of control and fell into a 200 feet deep gorge. The truck was completely destroyed in this horrific accident, but the driver miraculously survived. However, he had to remain trapped in the debris of the truck for about 24 hours under the shadow of death. This accident which happened on Sunday morning came to light when the truck owner searched the location of the vehicle through GPS tracking and found it stationary in the valley.

Upon receiving information about the accident, police and rescue teams arrived at the scene on Monday. Police from the Umranala outpost in the Mohkhed police station area conducted a difficult rescue operation with the help of three large cranes and local residents. After hours of effort, the injured driver, buried under the debris, was safely extricated and the truck was pulled up. The driver suffered serious leg injuries and was immediately admitted to the district hospital, where he was declared out of danger after treatment and was discharged.

According to outpost in-charge Paras Armo, the accident occurred around 7 a.m. on Sunday. Two trucks belonging to the same owner were headed to Borgaon from the Chand area, loaded with maize. The two vehicles were traveling back and forth. The front truck crossed the valley, but the rear truck lost balance and fell into a 250-foot-deep ravine. Due to the lack of mobile network and traffic in the valley, the driver was stranded. Thanks to the alertness of truck owner Ravi Baghel and GPS technology, help reached the driver in time, saving his life.
