Noida/Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A man named Ashwin Kumar Supra (50) has been arrested from Noida, Uttar Pradesh in connection with the serious threat of bomb blasts in Mumbai. The Mumbai Crime Branch carried out this action. The accused is originally from Bihar. The mobile phone and SIM card used in the threat have been seized from him. The police have started the process of bringing him to Mumbai and further investigation is underway.

Mumbai Traffic Police recently received a threatening message on their official WhatsApp number. It claimed that 34 human bombs have been planted in 34 vehicles in the city. The threat said that 400 kg of RDX would be used in these bombs, and the explosions would rock the entire Mumbai.

The message also claimed to be associated with a terrorist organization called "Lashkar-e-Jihadi". It also said that 14 Pakistani terrorists have entered India. After this threat, Mumbai Police has made tight security arrangements in the city and investigation is being done from every angle. This is not the first time that Mumbai has received a bomb threat. Last month, Navi Mumbai Police was informed through a call that there is a bomb in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight and there was also a threat to blow up Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

The Joint Commissioner of Police office received two calls between 2 and 2:30 pm. However, after investigation, nothing suspicious was found, and the callers were identified. Mumbai Police and other agencies are on high alert due to the continuous threats. Security has been tightened at railway stations, airports, bus stands, and crowded areas. Bomb disposal squads and dog squads are constantly patrolling.

Mumbai Police is now also investigating the cyber angle in this case to find out whether the accused Ashwin Kumar Supra had any contact with any terrorist network. In the initial investigation, it seems to be a false threat given by a mentally unstable person, but the police is not ready to take any risk.
