National Herald Case: Court Reserves Verdict on ED's Complaint Against Sonia, Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Delhi 's Rouse Avenue Court on Monday reserved its decision on the prosecution complaint filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, party MP Rahul Gandhi and others in the National Herald money laundering case. The court has fixed July 29 as the next date of hearing in the case. On this day it will be decided whether the court will take cognizance of the complaint or not.
Sonia-Rahul Gandhi's troubles may increase, court reserves decision in National Herald case: The Enforcement Directorate had filed this prosecution complaint while taking action in this case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED alleges that the Congress leaders illegally acquired the properties of Associated Journals Limited (AJL) through Young Indian Limited.
Let us tell you that this case was first started on the basis of the complaint of BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, in which he alleged that the Congress leaders wrongfully took possession of properties worth more than Rs 90 crore through Young Indian. Now the court will decide whether the trial process can be formally started in this case on the basis of ED's complaint or not.
