NEET PG Dates out: Supreme court gives approval
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): There is a special news for the students preparing for NEET PG exam that this exam which was to be held on June 15 will now be held on August 3. The Supreme Court has given instructions regarding the exam.
Actually, the National Board of Examination (NBE), the organization conducting the NEET PG exam, had asked the Supreme Court for some time to conduct the exam. On the demand of NBE, the Supreme Court has directed to conduct the exam in the month of August.
The Supreme Court has given time to NBE to conduct the exam. During the hearing in the Supreme Court, the court asked the exam conducting body why so much time should be given for the NEET-PG exam. The exam can be conducted even in the middle of July. Why should two months' time be given? This will delay the admission process. On these questions of the court, NBE said that we do not want any kind of compromise regarding the exam.
NBE said that we are taking time for the exam so that we do not face any problem while conducting the exam. On May 30, the Supreme Court had ordered that the NEET-PG exam be conducted in only one shift. After this, NBE had filed an application in the apex court seeking extension of time to reschedule the exam to a later date. Because new arrangements will have to be made to comply with the single-shift order.
Let us tell you that on June 3, the Supreme Court had earlier said that conducting the examination in two shifts would be arbitrary and would create many difficulties. The Supreme Court had directed the NBE to make arrangements to conduct the examination in one shift. NBE has said that conducting the examination in one shift is a big task. For this, it will have to arrange for more than 1000 examination centers, which will take a lot of time. Applications will have to be reopened for all candidates in more than 250 cities.
