“Government Expert in Puncturing a Moving Vehicle”: Nitin Gadkari's Scathing Critique
Nagpur (The Uttam Hindu): 'After my 4 years of experience, I have understood that the government is very useless. No work can be done by relying on corporations. They have the expertise to puncture a moving vehicle.' This is what Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said. He was saying all this based on his experiences of the attitude he saw regarding the desire to build a stadium in Nagpur.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also attacked freebies or 'free schemes' in a program in Nagpur. He said, 'Everyone wants something for free. I don't give anything for free.' Actually, the Union Minister wants to build a stadium in Nagpur, but due to the government's lethargy, he expressed his disappointment and anger. Gadkari said, 'I want to build 300 stadiums for sports in Nagpur, but in my four-year career, I have realized that the government is useless. No work is done by relying on NIT, corporation etc. They are experts in puncturing a moving vehicle.
Nitin Gadkari narrated an incident. He said, 'A person from Dubai came to me and said that I run a sports stadium in Dubai. I asked how he will run it, he said.. I will give a tender for 15 years.. We will make arrangements for light, water, changing clothes and then he will do the maintenance.. and he will charge 500 or 1,000 rupees from the child who comes to play. Gadkari further said, 'No one should give anything for free. I am in politics. Everything is free here. There is such a thinking that I want everything for free… I do not give for free.'
