Notice to Rahul Gandhi: Karnataka Election Body Wants Proof for 'Vote Theft' Accusations
Bengaluru (The Uttam Hindu): Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi is continuously accusing the Election Commission of 'vote theft'. Regarding this, the Karnataka Election Commission has sent a notice to Rahul Gandhi.
The Chief Electoral Officer's office of Karnataka has sent a letter to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to provide documents for investigation of the allegations made in the press conference held on August 7 in New Delhi. The letter states that you said in the press conference that the documents shown in your presentation are from the records of the Election Commission of India. You have said that this is the data of the Election Commission. You have also said that as per the record given by the polling officer, Shakun Rani has voted twice.
According to the ECI office, on being questioned, Shakun Rani said that she has voted only once, not twice, as you have alleged. You are requested to provide the relevant documents on the basis of which you have concluded that Shakun Rani or anyone else has voted twice, so that a detailed investigation can be conducted by this office. Let us tell you that earlier Rahul Gandhi had said in a press conference that we investigated Mahadevapura constituency, an assembly constituency of Karnataka and found that 1,00,250 votes were stolen here. These fake votes were added to the list in five ways. 11,965 duplicate voters were created, 40,009 fake addresses were used, 10,452 voters were registered in large numbers at the same address, 4,132 voters were added without photo or with illegal photo and 33,692 new voters were added by misuse of Form-6. He had said that 'vote theft' is not just an election scam, it is a big fraud committed against the constitution and democracy. Criminals of the country should listen, times will change, they will definitely get punishment.
