Chennai (The Uttam Hindu): Actor-turned-politician and TVK (Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam) chief Vijay has broken his silence on the tragic stampede in Karur, Tamil Nadu, by releasing a video statement. In the nearly five-minute video released on social media, Vijay expressed deep sorrow over the incident, saying he was deeply saddened by the incident and had never experienced such a traumatic situation in his entire life.

In the video, Vijay said, "My heart is filled with immense pain right now, and only pain." He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. Vijay added, "I know that no words can compensate for the loss people have suffered. I will personally meet all those affected by this accident very soon."

The TVK chief also explained in the video why he left the scene after the accident. Vijay said, "I'm a human being too. When such a major accident happened at the Karur rally, how could I leave the people? But I had to leave because my presence there could have worsened the situation and caused more chaos."

Vijay hinted at a conspiracy behind the incident and said the truth would soon emerge. "We visited at least five districts for our campaign, and no such incidents occurred anywhere," he said. "Why did this happen only in Karur? How did this happen? The public knows the truth; they are watching." He also addressed the FIR filed against three party officials and claimed the party had fully complied with all instructions given by the authorities.
