Over 150 IndiGo Flights Cancelled Today; Passengers Suffer Due to Crew Shortage and Bad Weather
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): IndiGo Airlines is currently facing major operational issues. For the third consecutive day, several flights across the country have been cancelled. Earlier, on Tuesday and Wednesday, more than 200 flights were cancelled, causing significant trouble for passengers.
India’s largest airline has suspended many flights in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and others. According to media reports, more than 30 flights scheduled to depart from Delhi today were cancelled by IndiGo. However, the airline has not released any clear explanation for these cancellations. In Hyderabad, around 33 flights were cancelled, while Mumbai Airport also saw multiple cancellations.
Across India, over 170 IndiGo flights were cancelled today. No official confirmation about the exact number has been issued yet. IndiGo usually operates more than 22,000 flights per month, but over the past three days, the airline has continued to cancel a large number of flights and has apologised to passengers for the inconvenience.
In an official statement on Wednesday, IndiGo said that technical issues, winter-related schedule changes, bad weather, congestion in the aviation system, and flight duty time limitations have severely impacted their operations, forcing them to cancel many flights.
