PM Modi Inaugurates 184 New Flats for MPs — Here’s What’s Special
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated 184 new multi-storey flats built for MPs on Baba Kharak Singh Marg in New Delhi. All these flats are of Type-VII category.
The program started at 9:00 am. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and Kiren Rijiju also attended it. During the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also planted a vermilion plant in the residential complex. Along with this, he also met the workers (laborers) working there and appreciated their contribution. According to the Prime Minister's Office, each new flat is built in a carpet area of about 5,000 square feet. These flats are designed so that MPs can easily carry out their official and public work from their home. The complex includes the residence of MPs as well as offices, accommodation for staff and a community center. All these facilities together create a self-sufficient environment for those living here.
Its infrastructure has been designed as per modern standards. All the buildings are earthquake resistant and have modern structural safety features. Not only the strength of the buildings, but the security system of the complex is also very robust and comprehensive, ensuring the safety of all the residents. The complex has been designed keeping in mind the changing needs of the MPs. According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the complex is also friendly for Divyaangjan, which reflects the government's commitment to inclusive design. Given the limited land availability, the residences have been constructed to make maximum use of the land and keep the maintenance cost low.
