PM Modi Launches ₹1.22 Lakh Crore Development Package for Rajasthan, Including Nuclear Power Plant

Banswara (The Uttam Hindu): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a historic development package for Rajasthan, marking a major boost for the state’s infrastructure and economy. Projects worth over ₹1,22,670 crore will be dedicated to national development, including ₹1,08,468 crore worth of initiatives directly benefiting Rajasthan.

Of these, projects worth over ₹1,08,468 crore will directly benefit Rajasthan, with the Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project, costing ₹42,000 crore, being a major highlight. This will become the state’s second nuclear power plant.


Under India’s Panchamrit Action Plan, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate clean energy projects and lay the foundation of transmission systems worth ₹63,683 crore. These include seven solar energy projects (₹14,445 crore) and transmission lines for renewable energy evacuation from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone Phases 4 and 5 (₹13,183 crore). With a combined capacity of 9.6 GW and spanning five states, these initiatives will strengthen India’s clean energy transition.

Additionally, major water resource projects worth ₹20,833 crore will be inaugurated and laid, including the Ram Setu Link project, Mor Sagar artificial reservoir in Ajmer, and Brahmani Barrage in Chittorgarh. Road infrastructure projects worth ₹2,636 crore will be launched, while ₹5,884 crore water supply projects will improve access to clean water for rural and urban families.


Social infrastructure will also see significant focus. A 250-bed RBM hospital will be built in Bharatpur at a cost of ₹128 crore, while an IT development and e-governance center will be inaugurated in Jaipur for ₹140 crore. Sewage and water infrastructure projects worth ₹226 crore will commence in Makrana (Nagaur) and Mandawa (Jhunjhunu).

To strengthen connectivity, the Prime Minister will flag off three new trains via video conferencing: Bikaner–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, Jodhpur–Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express, and Udaipur City–Chandigarh Express.


Employment generation will also be central to the package. Appointment letters will be handed to 15,000 youth in Rajasthan, including 5,778 animal husbandry workers, 4,197 junior assistants, 1,800 junior instructors, 1,464 junior engineers, 1,200 third-grade teachers, and other positions, including compassionate appointments.

This comprehensive development package, covering energy, water, health, education, infrastructure, and employment, is set to take Rajasthan a major step towards inclusive growth and self-reliance.
