PM Modi’s message on National Unity Day: Avoid actions that divide the nation

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to him, saying he congratulates 1.4 billion Indians on Sardar Patel's 150th birth anniversary. He said that after independence, Sardar Patel successfully accomplished the seemingly impossible task of integrating more than 550 princely states into the Indian Union.


"Stay away from things that weaken the unity of the country," said PM Modi at the National Unity Day event: At the National Unity Day parade, Prime Minister Modi said that today crores of people have taken a pledge of unity. He said that we should promote such activities that strengthen the unity of the country, and every citizen should stay away from thoughts and actions that weaken unity. This is the need of the hour for our country.


The Prime Minister further stated that just as we celebrate Independence Day on August 15th and Republic Day on January 26th, Unity Day also holds special significance in our lives. This day symbolizes inspiration and pride. He noted that Ekta Nagar features Ekta Mall, Ekta Garden, and many other symbols that strengthen the spirit of unity. The enthusiasm of millions of Indians in the 'Run for Unity' organized across the country reflects the resolve of a new India.


PM Modi also said that the events held here and yesterday evening's impressive performances showcased India's traditions, the hard work of the present, and a glimpse of the future. He said that Sardar Patel believed that we should not waste time writing history, but rather work to create it. His policies and decisions added a new chapter to the country's history.
