PMO to be renamed ‘Seva Tirth’; All Raj Bhavans across India to be known as ‘Lok Bhavan’
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Modi government is taking a major step to give India’s administrative structure a new identity and direction. The aim is to link symbols of governance with values of service, responsibility, and transparency. Under this vision, the new Prime Minister’s Office being built as part of the Central Vista Project has been named ‘Seva Tirth’.
Along with this, all Raj Bhavans across the country will now be renamed ‘Lok Bhavan’, reflecting a shift toward a more people-centric and accountable governance system. According to officials, this change is not just an administrative reform but also a cultural and moral transformation—signifying that service, not power, is supreme.
The Executive Enclave will also house the Cabinet Secretariat, National Security Council Secretariat, and offices of India House, which will serve as a venue for high-level engagements with global leaders. Officials said that Seva Tirth is designed as a workplace that embodies the spirit of service and will be a hub where national priorities are shaped.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, governance spaces are being redesigned to reflect duty and transparency. Every name, every building, and every symbol now emphasizes a simple idea—the government exists to serve. Rajpath has already been renamed Kartavya Path. This transformation is cultural and ethical, not just administrative.
