Railways to run 10 special trains for Holi rush, routes and timings released

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Indian Railways has made special arrangements for the convenience of passengers going home on the occasion of Holi. During the festive season it becomes difficult to get confirmed tickets in trains, hence keeping in mind the huge rush of passengers, Railways has started operating special trains on many routes. In this connection, now a list of 10 new Holi special trains has been issued for operation between Kolkata, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. CPRO of East Central Railway Saraswati Chandra said that with the running of these special trains, the travel of passengers especially going to UP and Bihar will be very easy and they will not have to face shortage of tickets.

Lalkuan-Kolkata special train route and timings

The new list released by the Railways includes Lalkuan-Kolkata-Lalkuan Special (05060/05059). Train No. 05060 Lalkuan-Kolkata Special will leave Lalkuan every Thursday from March 5 to March 26 at 13.35 hrs and will reach Kolkata at 23.55 hrs the next day. In return, Train No. 05059 Kolkata-Lalkuan Special will leave every Saturday from March 7 to March 28 at 5.00 hrs and will reach Lalkuan at 15.45 hrs the next day. This train will pass through several major stations including Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur and Barauni.

Trains will also run between Saharsa-Purnia Court.

To reduce the extra rush of passengers, Saharsa-Purnia Court-Saharsa Special (05506/05505) will also be operated. Train number 05506 Saharsa-Purnia Court Special will leave Saharsa at 13.20 hrs every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6th March to 15th March and will reach Purnia Court at 15.30 hrs. On the return journey, train number 05505 Purnia Court-Saharsa Special will leave Purnia Court at 3 pm every Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9th March to 17th March and will reach Saharsa at 6.30 pm. On the way, this train will stop at Dauram Madhepura, Murliganj and Banmankhi stations.

Schedule of Sogaria-Danapur and Dankuni-Patna

The Railways has also decided to run the Sogaria-Danapur-Sogaria Holi Special (09803/09804). This train will depart from Sogaria on March 1st at 11:10 pm and reach Danapur at 11:45 pm the next day. On its return journey, it will depart from Danapur on March 3rd at 1:15 am and reach Sogaria at 1:10 am the next day. Furthermore, the Dankuni-Patna Special (03035/03036) will depart from Dankuni on February 27th and March 4th at 12:30 am and reach Patna at 2:45 pm. On its return journey, the same train will depart from Patna on February 27th and March 4th at 4:15 pm and reach Dankuni at 7 am the next day.
