New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The changing weather across the country has brought a mix of heat and relief. A yellow alert has been declared for multiple states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Haryana-Punjab from May 1 to May 4.
According to IMD, cloudy skies and dust storms accompanied by rain and lightning are expected today in parts of Delhi-NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana-Punjab. These weather patterns are likely to provide temporary relief from the intense heat prevailing across these regions.
Weather Forecast – Region-wise Highlights:
Uttar Pradesh
The state is likely to see light to moderate rain, dust storms, and lightning over the next five days. The IMD has issued a yellow alert until May 4, warning of heavy dust storms and thunderstorms in various districts. This shift is expected to bring significant relief from the scorching heat.
Delhi-NCR
Delhi is likely to experience intermittent rain or drizzle with thunder and lightning until May 6. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36–37°C, while the minimum may remain in the 25–26°C range. A noticeable drop in heat is expected by next week.
Rajasthan
The arrival of a fresh western disturbance has triggered weather changes in Rajasthan. Light rain and intense thunderstorms are forecasted in areas like Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Jaipur divisions. Winds could gust at 40–50 km/h, contributing to a temporary dip in temperatures across the state.
Bihar
A change in weather is also expected in Bihar, especially in 13 districts including Purnia, Araria, and Arwal. For the next five days, these areas may see cloudy skies, lightning, and rain, as per the IMD's forecast.
