New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light from Korba district in Chhattisgarh, where scrap dealer Ashraf Memon and two others were strangled to death late last night. The victims include Ashraf, a local youth, and another young man from Bilaspur whose identity is still unclear. Police have detained three suspects for questioning.

The crime took place at Ashraf’s scrap yard located in Kudripara under Urga police station area near Korba city. According to reports, 8–10 people had gathered there at night. It is suspected that some occult ritual or “tantra-mantra” activity was taking place when a dispute broke out among the group, leading to the murder of all three victims. At the time of the incident, Ashraf’s son was present outside the yard.

Upon receiving the information, police reached the site and sent the bodies to the hospital mortuary. Investigations are underway and the detained individuals are being questioned. According to sources, Ashraf Memon had long been involved in illegal scrap trade and had several cases of attempted murder, theft, and assault registered against him. Recently, he had also been engaged in the business of fly ash transportation.
