Satyapal Malik trapped in CBI's mess, chargesheet filed…health also deteriorated
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Problems have increased for Satya Pal Malik, former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a chargesheet against Satyapal Malik and five others in the Kiru Hydroelectric Power Project case. This case is about irregularities in civil works contracts worth about Rs 2,200 crore. The CBI raided Satyapal Malik's hideout on 22 February 2024 in connection with this case. Along with this, raids were also conducted at 29 other locations in Delhi. This case is related to corruption in the Kiru Hydro Electric Project case, when Satyapal Malik used to be the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. In April 2022, the CBI started investigating this matter.
Satyapal Malik himself had alleged in several interviews and programs that there was corruption in this project. He said that when he was the governor, he was offered bribe for the approval of this project. On the other hand, Malik was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after his health deteriorated. He shared this information in his X post while sharing a photo from the hospital bed. Giving information about the deterioration of Satyapal Malik's health, he wrote on X, 'Hello friends, I am getting calls from many of my well-wishers which I am unable to pick up, my condition is very bad right now, I am currently admitted in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital Delhi and I am not in a condition to talk to anyone
