Senior BJP Leader and Former MP Ram Vilas Vedanti Passes Away at 67

Rewa(The Uttam Hindu): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Member of Parliament Ram Vilas Vedanti passed away on Monday at the age of 67. He had been unwell for a long time and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh.

Vedanti was a prominent leader of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and was widely known for his powerful and passionate oratory. He played a significant role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and actively participated in several rallies and public programs supporting the cause.

In the 1998 Lok Sabha elections, Ram Vilas Vedanti won from the Pratapgarh parliamentary constituency, defeating Congress candidate Rajkumari Ratna Singh by a margin of 68,460 votes.

Political Leaders Express Condolences

Several political leaders expressed grief over his demise. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described Vedanti’s passing as an irreparable loss to Sanatan Dharma.

In a message shared on social media platform X, the Chief Minister stated that Vedanti’s death marks the end of an era. He noted that Vedanti dedicated his entire life to the service of the nation, religion, and society. CM Yogi also prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength for his followers and family members to bear the loss.
