Senior Congress leader offers ₹2.5 crore jewellery to Lord Ram and Mata Sita on Ram Navami
Congress leader T. Jagga Reddy offers ₹2.5 crore gold and silver jewellery to Lord Ram and Mata Sita in Sangareddy on Ram Navami with grand rituals and procession.
Sangareddy (The Uttam Hindu): Devotion was on full display across the country on the occasion of Ram Navami, with grand celebrations and special prayers dedicated to Lord Ram. A remarkable act of devotion was witnessed in Sangareddy, Telangana, where senior Congress leader T. Jagga Reddy marked the occasion in a unique way.
The TPCC working president offered gold and silver jewellery worth ₹2.5 crore at the feet of Lord Ram and Mata Sita, along with devotees, as part of the celebrations.
Gold ornaments weighing 2.25 kg offered
The jewellery offered by the Congress leader includes gold ornaments weighing around 2.25 kg. These include a crown, necklace, waistband, bow and arrow, conch, chakra, and other decorative items for Lord Ram.
Special ornaments were also crafted for Mata Sita, including a mangalsutra and lotus-hand jewellery. Additionally, a symbolic artistic piece representing Lord Ram holding an arrow was part of the offerings.
Silver ‘Kalyan Peeth’ and grand procession
Apart from gold ornaments, a 10 kg silver ‘Kalyan Peeth’ along with Adishesha structure was also prepared. Before offering, the ornaments were ritually consecrated through a special ceremony held at Jagga Reddy’s residence in Ram Nagar.
Following the rituals, a grand procession was carried out across the city. Upon reaching the temple, offerings were made through a havan, after which the jewellery was formally dedicated to the deities with full religious devotion.
