Prayagraj (The Uttam Hindu): Swami Avimukteshwarananda, who is facing serious allegations of sexual harassment, has received interim relief from the Allahabad High Court. During a hearing on Friday, the court listened to detailed arguments from both sides and reserved its decision on his anticipatory bail plea. The court directed that he should not be arrested until a final order is passed, providing him temporary relief.

After the court proceedings, Swami Avimukteshwarananda addressed a press conference and rejected the allegations, calling them baseless and part of a conspiracy. He said that the matter was argued at length before the court and added that he would examine the detailed order once it is issued. He maintained that the accusations against him were fabricated.

During the hearing, lawyers representing the state government and the complainant strongly opposed the anticipatory bail plea and referred to the FIR containing serious allegations related to incidents during religious gatherings. The court also discussed issues related to the children mentioned in the case, and further proceedings will depend on the final decision once the reserved order is pronounced.
