Patna (The Uttam Hindu): The main accused Tausif Raza alias Badshah has been arrested in the case of shooting and killing Chandan Mishra by entering the private ward of Paras HMRI Hospital located in Raja Bazaar of the capital Patna. A joint team of Bihar STF and Bengal STF arrested him from Anandpur area of Kolkata late night.

In this major operation, along with Tausif, a woman, Sachin Singh, Yunus Khan and Harish Singh have also been detained. According to information, one of the accused has also been injured during the arrest. Sources said that Tausif was arrested from a guest house and the car in which he was seen escaping has also been recovered from him. However, Bihar Police has not yet officially confirmed any arrest.

The STF had already found out in its technical investigation that Tausif was hiding in West Bengal. Since then, teams of Bihar STF and Patna Police were continuously raiding there. An important clue in the case was found from CCTV footage, in which Tausif was seen going in a white car via Basanti Highway towards Anandpur, Kolkata Leather Complex and Bhangar police station areas. On the basis of the footage, the STF team was continuously following him and finally reached his hideout late on Saturday night.

Earlier on Friday night, five accused who helped in bringing and taking the shooters were arrested from Shapoorji area of Newtown adjoining Kolkata. This arrest helped the police a lot in reaching the main accused.
