Tragedy strikes as roof collapse in Indira Awas Yojana house claims 5 lives

Danapur (The Uttam Hindu): News of a tragic accident has emerged from Bihar. Five members of a family died when the roof of a house built under the Indira Awas Yojana collapsed. The accident occurred in Manas village, under the Akilpur police station area. The deceased include a woman, a man, and three children. The bodies have been recovered from the debris, and police are investigating the matter.

Tragic accident: Roof of Indira Awas Yojana house collapses, killing 5 members of the same family: According to the information received, the deceased have been identified as Bablu Khan, his wife Roshan Khatoon, son Mohammad Chand, daughter Rukshaar and youngest daughter Chandni. This accident happened last night, when the family went to sleep after dinner. Suddenly the roof of the house collapsed, due to which the entire family got buried under the debris. People from the vicinity reached the spot, but by then it was too late. All the family members died on the spot.

It is reported that the house whose roof collapsed was built several years ago under the Indira Awas Yojana. The house was in a dilapidated condition and already had cracks in the roof. Due to financial constraints, the family was unable to have it repaired, resulting in this horrific accident.

Villagers say that many houses in the area, built under the Indira Awas Yojana (Indira Housing Scheme), are now in very poor condition and could collapse at any time. This poses a threat to the lives of many families. Police and administration teams are currently on the scene and investigating. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. This tragic incident has spread grief throughout the village.
