Tragic NH‑922 Crash: Tyre Burst Sends Truck into Trailer, Driver Burnt Alive

Buxar (The Uttam Hindu): A horrific road accident took place on Patna-Buxar National Highway-922 on Monday morning, in which a truck driver died a painful death. This incident took place on the southern lane near Bhojpur Kothi under Naya Bhojpur police station area.

According to the information, a truck loaded with sand went out of control and collided with a trailer parked ahead. The collision was so severe that the cabin of the truck and the rear part of the trailer caught fire immediately. The fire engulfed the entire truck in no time and the driver of the truck got trapped in the cabin and was burnt alive.

Eyewitnesses said that a tire of the truck suddenly burst, due to which the driver lost control and the truck collided directly with the trailer. The fire after the collision spread rapidly and the fire department was informed. The police team of Naya Bhojpur police station and Dial 112 police also reached the spot immediately. It took about an hour for the fire brigade personnel to extinguish the fire, but by then the truck driver had died.

The body of the deceased was badly burnt. The lower part of the stomach was reduced to ashes while his bones were stuck to the steering. The deceased has been identified as Ravindra Kumar, a resident of Chehri village in Maharajganj police station area of ​​Uttar Pradesh. He was driving truck number (BR 28 GA 9839) and was going towards Uttar Pradesh after loading sand from Koilwar.

The driver of the trailer, Dinanath, who is a resident of Maharajganj police station area, said that he had parked his trailer on the roadside and had gone to fetch water. Meanwhile, Ravindra's truck came from behind at a high speed and lost its balance due to a tyre burst, due to which it collided directly with his vehicle.

Dumraon Circle Inspector Srinath Kumar also reached the spot and took stock of the situation. After the accident, traffic on NH-922 remained disrupted for hours and panic was seen among the truck drivers passing through there. The police have sent the body for post-mortem and started further investigation. In the preliminary investigation, the cause of the accident is being said to be tire burst and high speed of the truck.
