Tragic train accident: 11 killed and 2 injured after being hit by a train

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Eleven people were killed and two injured in a tragic train accident in China's southern Yunnan province on Thursday morning. The accident occurred when a test train running to check seismic signals collided with a group of construction workers at the Luoyang Town Railway Station in Kunming city.

According to China Central Television, construction workers were on the tracks on a curved section of track at Luoyang Town Station on Thursday morning when a train testing seismic equipment arrived at high speed and crushed them. Eleven workers died on the spot, while two were seriously injured.

Railway officials and rescue teams arrived at the scene upon receiving information about the accident. The injured have been hospitalized and are undergoing treatment. The railway administration stated that normal operations have resumed at the station. A special team has been formed to investigate the cause of the accident. Officials stated that strict legal action will be taken against those found negligent.
